NEW MENTALITY ADD/ADHD program

Child Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) & Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Program

The New Mentality ADD/ADHS Program  is designed to treat and improve the lives of adults that have been diagnosed or have symptoms of ADD or ADHD, without the use of medication.

Developed to improve children focus and attention on daily tasks while school, home or wherever their attention may be required and/or demanded.

Addressing ADHD before middle school reduces the risk of academic failure, low self‑esteem, accidents, and later anxiety or depression. With the right supports, children can transform their boundless energy and curiosity into lifelong strengths.

With our innovative technology, we can treat it without the use of medications. Our neurotherapist can perform what’s known as a “brain map” to begin the assessment process and begin to understand how the individual’s brain is functioning. With that information and a combination of other clinical assessments, the team at New Mentality can create a treatment program best suited to assist in improving attention, focus, processing speed, and performance.

A person with ADHD has differences in brain development and brain activity that affect attention, impulse control and the ability to sit still.

ADHD can also cause anger outbursts, difficulty completing tasks, restlessness and the inability to socially engage or connect.

ADD/ADHD?

Do you find it hard to pay attention? Do you feel the need to move constantly during times when you shouldn’t? Do you find yourself constantly interrupting others?

“ADHD has been proven by science to be based on brain functioning.”

If these issues are ongoing and you feel that he/she is being negatively impacted in daily life, it could be a sign of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Children require six or more symptoms in either domain, present in two or more settings (home + school), and clearly impairing daily life.

If you would like your child to get a diagnosis with a Mental Health Professional or to have a Free Consultation, please use the form above or contact us.

DID YOU KNOW?

What is ADHD (children)

ADHD, also known as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is one of the most common mental disorders affecting  affecting children.

In childhood, ADHD is usually recognized through academic or behavioral red flags: constant motion, blurting out answers, daydreaming, incomplete homework, or emotional outbursts. Boys are still diagnosed more often than girls, largely because hyperactivity is easier to spot than quiet inattention.

“Early treatment matters: unmanaged childhood ADHD raises the risk of academic failure, accidents, and later mood disorders.”

Beyond managing symptoms, it’s crucial to help children recognize and channel the upside of ADHD—creativity, curiosity, and high energy—while building daily habits that protect their well‑being. Encourage short but consistent movement breaks (jumping jacks, wall pushes) to reset focus, prioritize 9–11 hours of sleep to calm impulsivity, and offer nutrient‑dense snacks (fruit, yogurt, nuts) that stabilize mood between meals.

What causes ADHD?

Researchers at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and across the country are studying the causes of ADHD. Current research suggests ADHD may be caused by interactions between genes and environmental or non-genetic factors. Like many other illnesses, a number of factors may contribute to ADHD such as:

  • Genes
  • Cigarette smoking, alcohol use, or drug use during pregnancy
  • Exposure to environmental toxins, such as high levels of lead, at a young age
  • Low birth weight
  • Brain injuries

Key signs to watch for

  • Inattention: careless mistakes, losing school supplies, difficulty following multi‑step instructions, easily distracted by sights or sounds.

  • Hyperactivity‑impulsivity: fidgeting, leaving seat, running/climbing at inappropriate times, talking excessively, interrupting others.

Children require six or more symptoms in either domain, present in two or more settings (home + school), and clearly impairing daily life.
